Why I chose it

Daily sunscreen needs to be easy enough to use properly. This one combines SPF 40 protection with a light moisturising texture that absorbs quickly and works particularly well for combination or oilier skin.

NeoGlucosamine provides some additional support for uneven tone, but the main reason to choose this product is the sunscreen protection and lighter finish.

This product is a little more expensive than some of the other sunscreens here. It may still offer good value if it replaces a separate morning moisturiser and makes it easier for you to apply sunscreen consistently.

NeoGlucosamine

NeoGlucosamine (N-acetyl glucosamine) is an amino sugar that plays a role in the skin’s natural support structures, including hyaluronic acid production. Early clinical studies suggest it may help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, particularly when combined with other active ingredients. It also provides very mild exfoliating effects and may support hydration. While results are promising, much of the published data is manufacturer-sponsored, and more independent large-scale studies would help clarify the extent of its benefits.

Grape Seed Extract

An antioxidant-rich botanical extract that helps protect the skin from environmental stress.

Grape Seed Extract contains polyphenols, particularly proanthocyanidins, which have strong antioxidant activity in laboratory studies. Antioxidants are known to help neutralise free radicals generated by UV exposure and pollution. While its antioxidant capacity is well established in vitro, robust clinical evidence demonstrating significant anti-ageing or pigmentation benefits in topical skincare is more limited. It is generally included to support overall skin protection and resilience, particularly in formulations targeting environmental stress.

Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Leaf Extract

A botanical extract that provides antioxidant support within the formula.

Neem leaf extract contains several plant compounds and is used in skincare for antioxidant and skin-conditioning support. There is laboratory evidence for antimicrobial activity, but much less clinical evidence showing what it can do in finished skincare. Here, it supports the wider formula for oily or blemish-prone skin rather than being the main reason to choose the product.
