What makes it special?

I have been on the hunt for a relatively reasonably priced SPF that is versatile enough that it’s suitable for almost everyone. Whether you have dark skin and are prone to acne, you’re very pale and have more mature skin or you are somewhere in the middle and have rosacea this is likely to work for you. It doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles (collagen stimulating, acne fighting and pigment suppressing properties) of some of the other products on The Curatory but it does its job exceedingly well and feels great on the skin.

Key ingredients

Vitamin E not only helps to stabilise Vitamin C and make it more potent, it also works as an anti-oxidant by itself by mopping up the free radicals that cause damage to DNA, collagen and elastin.

Watercress Extract contains antioxidants and amino acids that are thought to help protect skin cells from environmental stress and support hydration. Early research and small laboratory studies suggest potential benefits for reducing oxidative damage, but more robust clinical data in topical skincare is needed to confirm these effects. It is generally well tolerated and often included in formulations aimed at supporting skin health and comfort.

Isododecane, Dimethicone/Bis-Isobutyl PPG-20 Crosspolymer, Diisopropyl Adipate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Tocopherol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Parfum (Fragrance), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Lepidium Sativum Sprout Extract.

Application Instructions

Squeeze a generous amount into your hand - I find that a large chickpea size covers your face, neck and ears.

This is unlikely to be moisturising enough if you have very dry skin so I’d moisturise first, let that sink in and then apply this SPF.

As with all SPF the advice is to reapply every two hours - I know that this sounds overwhelming but do try to apply as often as possible particularly if you are outdoors, have been sweating, have been in water or have towelled your face
