Our way of saying thank you as you build your skincare routine with The Curatory.

How Curatory Credit works

Why I chose it

I’ve been looking for a reasonably priced SPF with a barely-there finish that works across skin tones. This is translucent and may suit you if you prefer an ultra-matte gel, particularly if heavier creams put you off applying enough sunscreen.

It focuses on daily UV protection and a dry-touch finish rather than additional treatment claims. If your skin is dry, fragrance-sensitive or very reactive, another formula may suit you better.

The ingredients that make this special

A closer look at the ingredients doing the most meaningful work in this formula—and what the evidence can reasonably tell us.

Vitamin E

An antioxidant that also helps soften the skin.

Read the clinical context

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that also helps soften the skin. Its exact role depends on the rest of the formula, but it does not need to be paired with Vitamin C to be useful.

Watercress Extract

A botanical extract that may help support skin hydration and protection.

Read the clinical context

Watercress Extract contains antioxidants and amino acids that are thought to help protect skin cells from environmental stress and support hydration. Early research and small laboratory studies suggest potential benefits for reducing oxidative damage, but more robust clinical data in topical skincare is needed to confirm these effects. It is generally well tolerated and often included in formulations aimed at supporting skin health and comfort.

More about SVR

Laboratoire SVR has developed dermatological skincare since 1962, with ranges designed for different needs including sensitive and reactive skin, blemish-prone skin and daily sun protection.

Its formulas vary considerably: some are short and fragrance-free, while others prioritise a distinctive texture or finish. That makes product-level selection more useful than treating SVR as one uniform range.
