The Curatory is a UK doctor-led skincare store created to make good choices feel clearer. The selection is deliberately limited, every product has a distinct reason for being here, and the guidance is written to help you build a routine that works in real life.
How products earn their place
The aim isn’t to collect every launch or reproduce complete brand ranges. It’s to offer a manageable selection of useful options, explain the reasoning and retain enough choice for different skin, preferences and budgets.
Each product should solve a recognisable problem or offer a meaningful alternative within a routine. There is no need to stock a complete range simply because a brand makes it.
Selection considers formulation, relevant ingredient evidence, clinical testing where it is useful, tolerability and how a product performs in practice. Claims, patents and prestige are context—not automatic proof.
A routine should be manageable enough to use consistently. Starting simply, introducing products gradually and retaining something that already works can be better than replacing everything.
Guidance should explain why a product may suit you, when another option may be better and what skincare cannot realistically achieve. A recommendation is a starting point, not a universal prescription.
What curation means
Skin can respond differently to the same product, and no storefront can replace an individual assessment. The Curatory explains likely fit, trade-offs and sensible ways to begin, while being clear when another option—or professional advice—may be more appropriate.
Support after purchase
If you are unsure how to introduce a product, where it fits or whether another option may suit you better, you can ask The Curatory. Questions that require diagnosis, prescribing or a more individual clinical assessment will be directed to the appropriate consultation route.
