Dr Max’s view

Why I chose it

What I like about Clinisoothe+ is that it gives you a way of reducing bacterial load without disruption to the skin barrier. It’s simple, well tolerated, and very easy to slot into a routine after cleansing.

It’s not a complete acne treatment on its own, and certainly not a replacement for ingredients like retinoids, azelaic acid or salicylic acid. But as a supportive step, particularly if your skin is easily irritated, breaking out, or recovering after an in-clinic treatment, it’s a very useful product to have in the routine.

How to introduce it

After cleansing, either spritz your face with 3-4 sprays (if using the 100ml spray bottle), or wipe your face with a well saturated cotton pad (if using the 250ml dropper bottle).

You can leave it to dry which usually takes a minute or so, and it won't leave any residue.

Always allow it to fully dry before continuing with the next step of your routine.

Inside the formula

The ingredients that make this special

A closer look at the ingredients doing the most meaningful work in this formula—and what the evidence can reasonably tell us.

Hypochlorous Acid

A gentle antimicrobial ingredient that helps calm irritated and blemish-prone skin.

Read the clinical context

Hypochlorous Acid is a substance naturally produced by the immune system as part of the skin’s defence against bacteria and inflammation. In skincare, it is used to help reduce bacterial load and calm redness without disrupting the skin barrier. There is growing evidence supporting its use in sensitive, acne-prone and post-procedure skin, although many studies are still relatively small. It is generally very well tolerated and is often used to support skin healing and reduce irritation.

The thinking behind the formula

More about Clinisoothe+

Clinisoothe+ focuses on high-purity hypochlorous skincare for daily use on the face and body. Its Skin Purifier is a short, water-based formula intended to support surface hygiene and a calm, balanced feel without relying on exfoliating acids or astringent alcohol.

That narrow formulation is relevant for blemish-prone or easily unsettled skin: the product’s role is supportive and practical rather than an attempt to turn one spray into a complete treatment.
