Why I chose it

Retinoids are one of the most effective ways to treat fine lines, but around the eyes, tolerability is often the limiting factor.
What Medik8 has done well here is create a system that allows you to progress gradually. Being able to step up through different strengths makes it much easier to get the benefits of retinal without overwhelming the skin early on.
The addition of ceramides and other calming ingredients is also important. It helps offset the irritation you’d typically expect from a product at this level of potency, making it more usable in the long term.
In terms of results, it’s worth being realistic. You may notice some early improvement from hydration, but the more meaningful changes in fine lines and skin quality come with consistent use over time, driven by the retinal itself.
It’s a strong option if you’re looking to introduce a more advanced vitamin A around the eyes in a controlled, progressive way, particularly if you’ve struggled with tolerance in the past.

How to introduce it

Use a small amount around the orbital bone in the evening, avoiding the lash line and direct eye contact. Begin two evenings a week and increase only if comfortable. Do not use during pregnancy, while trying to conceive or while breastfeeding.
